TIPA Awards and the European Photo/Imaging Market Readership Survey Reveals High Awareness Among Consumers
Madrid, 13 April 2017
In its ongoing efforts to serve both its member magazines and the industry at large, the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA: www.tipa.com) recently engaged the independent and highly respected Research Institute for Press Research and Media Advice to conduct a survey among magazine readers that covered a wide range of topics, including the recognition of and purchasing influence on readers of the annual TIPA Awards. While the results worldwide were impressive, the results revealed a major awareness of TIPA and the annual TIPA Awards throughout all regions of the European photo/imaging market.
Because member magazines in the Association serve nearly every country in Europe, researchers were able to break out specific results within the central and southern European regions. As to recognition of the TIPA Award, almost 68% of readers from central European countries and 62% of readers from southern European know the award as one that recognizes excellence in the photo industry. The recognition of TIPA itself as a non-profit association garnered an impressive 48% in southern Europe and 32% in the central region.
About TIPA Readership Surveys
TIPA has been conducting Readership Surveys since 2005 as a service to member magazines, their publishers and the photo industry at large. Said TIPA Chairman Thomas Gerwers, “It is essential that TIPA’s members understand and appreciate the passion with which their readers are engaged in their magazines as well as their interests, activities and buying intentions. In addition, the TIPA Survey can serve as a mirror held up to the photo community at large, a very important matter in terms of the challenges it faces and the opportunities ahead. As an association of photo magazines, we feel strongly that photo-centric publications play an important role in the revitalization and growth of our industry and that the loyalty readers feel and the trust they place in our member magazines are an important asset for all.”
