Work modules include DxO Smart Lighting, which automatically lightens dark areas and retains details in highlights without increasing contrast; selective tone controls; an automatic tool for retaining texture in highly-saturated colour areas; Raw conversion that takes camera profiles into account; live preview in the image browser; and of course automatic optical corrections based on lens profiles, including a unique lens softness correction. Version 8 also has been updated to take full advantage of Retina displays.
