Camera GP Japan 2012 Awards Ceremony

Mr. Giulio Forti, the Vice-Chairman of TIPA, attended the Camera GP Japan 2012 awards ceremony in Tokyo on 1 June 2012.

The Camera Grand Prix, held since 1984, is a prestigious award where winners are selected by a judging committee made up of the members of the Camera Journal Press Club of Japan, top editorial staff of the member publications, academic experts, technical writers, professional photographers, and TIPA as a special member of the CJPC. The Camera Grand Prix is held annually under the sponsorship of the Camera Journal Press Club (CJPC), which was founded in Japan in 1963.

The winning products for the Camera GP2012 are:
Camera of the Year: Nikon D800
Lens of the Year: Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM
Readers Award: Nikon D800
Editors Award: Sony NEX-7 and Olympus M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 45mm f1.8

Three of four Camera GP2012 winning products also won TIPA Awards. The Nikon D800 (Best Expert DSLR), the Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM (Best Professional DSLR Lens) and the Sony NEX-7 (Best Expert CSC).

This concordance of views demonstrates the relevance of technical collaboration between the CJPC and TIPA.
