TIPA announces the election of the new Board of Directors
ROME, April 14, 2008 – The TIPA (Technical Image Press Association) is operating under a new leadership team. After 17 years of dedicated service to the TIPA, Juan Varela has stepped down as Chairman of the Board, but remains on the Board as Treasurer. Varela passes on his successful work to Thomas Gerwers. Gerwers represents a change of generation. His goal is, along with the other board members – Vice Chairman Giulio Forti, Vice Chairman Jan van der Schans, and Secretary Johan Elzenga – to continue and develop the respected work of Juan Varela. The new Board was voted on at the TIPA General Assembly, which took place in Rome on Saturday, April the 12th. The General Assembly also voted on the well-known TIPA Awards, which are given to extraordinary photo products. The winners will be announced on April 23rd.
